About Our Lab

The content of UO Motion Analysis Laboratory research falls under general areas related to biomechanics of human movement, with focuses on the investigation of biomechanical mechanisms governing gait balance control and factors contributing to mobility impairments. Combining engineering knowledge and approaches and successful collaboration with colleagues in neuroscience and sports medicine, we developed interdisciplinary research programs for investigating underlying mechanisms of mobility impairments associated with ageing, musculoskeletal diseases and injuries, and traumatic brain injury. In the Motion Analysis Laboratory, all research projects share the common “translational” feature, which connects basic research to clinical applications relevant to patients with neurological or musculoskeletal disorders.
